We were delighted with the A level results announced this year on 20th August. They represent much hard work by students and teachers, supported by parents. As a Community we can be very proud of all of our A level leavers’ achievements. This year group has produced the best ever A and B percentage of 71.1%. The College maintained its 100% pass rate for the fourth year running and 27 of the cohort achieved straight As.
We are awaiting confirmation of university entrance for a small number of candidates, but the signs are good with over 70% achieving the grades for their first choice of university. A small number of students will be attending their second choice university, some are taking gap years and some have opted to apply for entry in 2010.
There was much celebrating and cheerfulness among those collecting their results slips on the morning of the 20th.
The AS module scores were also presented on 20th August. The signs are excellent for next year’s Upper Sixth.
Members of the 1st XV with 24 straight As between them
