Thirty-two intrepid pupils accompanied by several members of staff walked a circuit taking in Shutslingsloe. There were two groups starting from Grid Ref 961 711. Group A, led by Mr Loader and accompanied by Miss Barry, Miss Tomkinson, Mrs Earles (and Mitzy), Mrs Barber and Mr Byrne took the clockwise route, whilst group B, led by Mr Barber, Mrs Hazell, Mr Hazell and Mr Barlett took the anticlockwise route. An excellent time was had by all. The walkers from U4, L5 and L6 took turns to lead and apply their recently acquired map reading skills and all acquitted themselves very well. Nobody got lost! This was the first practice walk for those pupils intending to undertake the Duke of Edinburgh award scheme.
