Music students were excited to witness a brand new Yamaha C4 grand piano being wheeled into the Academic Hall in November. This has been purchased by the College PFA and replaces the old grand piano which was last played in public during the recent performance of West Side Story. Pianists at the College have struggled for some years to perform on an instrument which was well past its best and many hoped for an opportunity to perform on the new Yamaha at the Christmas Concert.
This term, it is hoped to have a lunchtime recital given by Tim, one of our U6 students who has recently been accepted at the Scottish Academy of Music.
The piano was used to accompany and as a solo instrument in the Christmas concert, which was great success. All at the Collge are very grateful to the PFA and their supporters for this wonderful instrument.
