Music Festival

On Thursday 9th October we were treated to an evening of very high standards in musical performance from the U3rd through to the U6th. There were far too many highlights to mention with many very creditable performances. The evening was well attended and there were performances in the Junior Section (U3 and L4) and the Middle School (U4 and L5) and after the interval the Seniors (U5 and 6th Form). The range of pieces, composers and instruments was most impressive.

The overall standard was excellent in all categories. Thank you to all the participants for sharing their music with the audience and for the way in which they supported each other. Thank you also to the peripatetic music staff who had prepared the pupils so well.

Mrs Meehan  accompanied many of the peformers and Miss Darby and Mr Dean had the very difficult task of choosing the winners, who were:

U3&L4 Winner -  Joseph (Cornet), playing America (Bernstein)
U4&L5 Winner -  Joe (Piano), playing a Nocturne (Grieg)
Senior Winner  -  Luke (Tenor), singing Maria (Bernstein)

Things are shaping up nicely for West Side Story!
