Whilst acknowledging that parents are the primary educators of their children, we believe that successful education take place where there is a strong partnership between parent, pupil and school. To this end we aim to communicate effectively with parents, as this is fundamental to ensuring the pupil’s progress.
There are handbooks for different stages of the pupil’s development. Homework diaries provide a medium through which the parents can communicate with subject teachers and form teachers and also provide a quick check to ensure that work is being set and that the pupils are completing it satisfactorily.
In addition, parents receive regular newsletters and bulletins and have access to this website. The College prospectus may be downloaded or viewed online.
We encourage parents to become involved in the activities of the College and we aim to keep parents well informed about such events and activities as and when they take place. It is always a pleasure to meet parents whilst supporting musical and drama events or sports fixtures.
Our reports are designed to keep parents informed about their children’s progress. There is also one parents’ evening for each year group every year. There are also options evening and careers evenings to help parents and pupils make informed choices about the future.
Parents are encouraged to join the PFA (Parents and Friends Association) which works to support the life of the College.
